What a Super Dark dragon looks like
Super Dark is the super form of Dark: two copies of the gene where a Dark has one. It is graded Rare like the super form of every simple gene.
Colour genes change the body itself, the bottom layer of a dragon's look, so Super Dark stacks with any pattern, white or accent gene on the same dragon.
Nothing in the game today hides Super Dark: a dragon with two copies always shows it.
How to breed a Super Dark dragon
Super Dark takes two copies of the Dark gene, one from each parent, so both parents must carry it. A Super Dark passes the gene to every baby.
Two Dark dragons give a Super Dark in 25% of eggs. Once you have one, pair it with a Dark for 50%, or with another Super Dark and every egg is one. Paired with a Normal, a Super Dark gives a Dark in every egg and no Super Dark.
What you see is what it carries: a Super Dark always has two copies, so there are no hets to prove. For the Punnett square behind these numbers, see how to read breeding odds.
Combinations with Super Dark
The combinations book collects every body colour with every element. A Super Dark dragon that also shows Lava is a Super Dark Lava, one of the 8 squares open today, and the first keeper to hatch each square holds it as a world first.
Where to get a Super Dark dragon
Super Dark turns up in crate dragons. In the pool of genes every crate draws from, the Dark gene comes up at a rate of 8%; the Iron Crate turns that up 2.3 times and the Lava Crate 4 times. How often a crate dragon shows any morph at all depends on the crate: 8% in the Wooden Crate, 35% in the Iron Crate and 70% in the Lava Crate.
A crate dragon with two copies of a gene is rarer than one with a single copy, so the sure way to a Super Dark is to breed two Dark dragons.
