What a Pale Gold dragon looks like

Pale Gold is the super form of Golden: two copies of the gene where a Golden has one. It is graded Rare like the super form of every simple gene.

Colour genes change the body itself, the bottom layer of a dragon's look, so Pale Gold stacks with any pattern, white or accent gene on the same dragon.

Nothing in the game today hides Pale Gold: a dragon with two copies always shows it.

How to breed a Pale Gold dragon

Pale Gold takes two copies of the Golden gene, one from each parent, so both parents must carry it. A Pale Gold passes the gene to every baby.

Two Golden dragons give a Pale Gold in 25% of eggs. Once you have one, pair it with a Golden for 50%, or with another Pale Gold and every egg is one. Paired with a Normal, a Pale Gold gives a Golden in every egg and no Pale Gold.

What you see is what it carries: a Pale Gold always has two copies, so there are no hets to prove. For the Punnett square behind these numbers, see how to read breeding odds.

Combinations with Pale Gold

The combinations book collects every body colour with every element. A Pale Gold dragon that also shows Lava is a Pale Gold Lava, one of the 8 squares open today, and the first keeper to hatch each square holds it as a world first.

Where to get a Pale Gold dragon

Pale Gold turns up in crate dragons. In the pool of genes every crate draws from, the Golden gene comes up at a rate of 10%, tied for the highest of any gene there; the Iron Crate turns that up 2.3 times and the Lava Crate 4 times. How often a crate dragon shows any morph at all depends on the crate: 8% in the Wooden Crate, 35% in the Iron Crate and 70% in the Lava Crate.

A crate dragon with two copies of a gene is rarer than one with a single copy, so the sure way to a Pale Gold is to breed two Golden dragons.
